EARTHY ELEGANCE: BTS OF INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT RIVERHILL

Moving to a new city can be both exciting and overwhelming, especially when it comes to designing and furnishing a new home.

It was a fun challenge for Susana and Juan, a lovely couple who recently moved to Atlanta with their adorable toddler. Eager to create a warm and inviting space, they sought the expertise of an interior designer to bring their vision to life.

This blog post will take you through the transformative interior design journey of the Riverhill project, highlighting the collaborative process, design phases, and charming results that perfectly reflect the family's earthy, organic style.

Phase One: Primary Bedroom, Toddler Room, and Living Room Transformation

Susana and Juan's design journey began with a clear vision: to create a cohesive earthy and organic style while incorporating some of their existing furniture pieces. The couple opted for the Full eDesign Package, allowing them to actively participate in the design process while receiving expert guidance from us!

The first phase encompassed the bedrooms and the living room.

Starting with the Primary Bedroom; it had a great vaulted ceiling and blank canvas!

The primary bedroom, the sanctuary of the home, had its existing bed frame seamlessly integrated into the new design.

With the use of 3D design walkthroughs, the couple was able to envision the revamped bedroom with a fresh layout, carefully curated furniture pieces, and a harmonious color scheme. The result was a tranquil and rejuvenating space that captured the essence of their preferred style.

The toddler's room was a delightful endeavor, combining functionality and playfulness. By collaborating closely with Susana and Juan, we designed a charming space that sparked joy in their little one. The use of fun colors; blue, yellow, cream, and child-friendly elements came together to create a room that nurtured imagination and comfort.

One of the things I always do, I give 2 or 3 options in the first design presentation. It is both to help them give some options, and also let them truly understand their preference. And in some cases, they tend to go with a specific one, and in other cases, they could also ask us to mix/match.

In either case, we find it incredibly beneficial to offer alternative design board options during the first round. This practice is essential to our collaborative design process, which lies at the core of Design & Curations!

In this one room; we proposed 3 design boards, with slightly different color schemes and decor match styles.

Toddler Room Design Board Options

In this room, our clients have decided to move forward with the 1st one; they fell in love with the wallpaper, the fun rug, art, overhang lights...

And with their feedback, we have finalized the design board below.

We integrated their current furniture like the play table, dresser, and toddler bed. The soft yellow light fixtures are the most fun parts of the design. The pastel yellow sconces are from Bulbsquare, and over-hanging macaron pendant lights are from Etsy.

Coming to the last room in Phase 1: Livingroom!

The living room served as the heart of the home, where the family could relax and unwind together; we carefully selected new pieces, and the space exuded warmth and elegance.

Added rattan details with an elegant and unique bar cabinet from Crate & Barrel and these easy-to-order Cozy Curtains from TwoFaces.

Adding organic feeling through beautiful faux trees; and elegant yet relaxed armchairs from Anthropology.

Phase Two: Dining Room and Multipurpose Home Office/Guest Room

The second phase of the Riverhill project focused on the dining room and a multipurpose home office/guest room. With the same dedication and collaboration, the couple, along with us, reimagined these spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing areas.

The dining room, adorned with the couple's beloved sideboard, underwent a stunning transformation.

With earthy accents and carefully chosen furnishings, the room became a welcoming setting for family gatherings and entertaining guests.

The 3D design walkthrough provided a clear visualization of the final result, leaving no room for doubts.

By ingeniously combining workspace elements with comfortable guest accommodations, the room embodied functionality without sacrificing style.

This room had a little bit more romantic, inviting touch to it; with its patterned rug and study chair; and its inviting elements like transitional throw pillow patterns.

In this room, we balanced function and beauty; splurge and budget.

We selected unique romantic yet classic color for the walls, to surprise and delight; Soft Sage from Sherwin Williams. And adding a sleeper sofa enabled them to host their guests, whenever they need to.

A unique addition came from the pedestal we proposed, as it brought an aesthetic focal point coming through the door.

How do they feel about the journey?

"When we started thinking about decorating our home we were worried we wouldn’t be involved in the process… for us it was very important to find a designer that allowed us to flow w the process and interact closely with them.

We LOVED Hybrid Design Service D&C brings to the table because it allowed us to collaborate and feel part of the process while following Burcu’s lead on what was better for our lifestyle.

4hrsDesigner-for-a-day is a great option for small areas which only require small decor details. The process that D&C follows is very comfortable for the customer. They have a well-documented schedule with milestones which gave us a line of sight to important dates a made us feel the appropriate progress was being made.

Burcu is extremely connected with making sure you are happy and the way and the interactive website is a great way to provide feedback every step of the way."

Now the couple is working through their sourcing, and installation, at their own pace and budget.

Design to implementation is a lengthy process; we will have "after" & fully installed pictures in the coming months! It's worth the wait!

Stay tuned for BEFORE vs AFTERS!

This journey exemplifies the essence of our interior design approach, transforming spaces into reflections of their personalities and preferences; while adding the designer's elevated touches and cohesive elements.
