A Timeless, Family-Friendly Transformation
When this busy family of four from Sandy Springs, GA reached out to us, their biggest challenges were lack of storage, poor natural light, and a closed-off kitchen layout.
As a full-service interior design firm in North Atlanta, our goal was to create a bright, functional, and timeless white kitchen—one that feels chic and organic while being fully designed for family living.

Is the White Kitchen Dead? Here’s Why It’s Still Timeless
Is a white kitchen still in style in 2025—or is it officially out? The truth: white kitchens remain a classic when designed with warmth, texture, and personality.
With the right design details, a modern white kitchen becomes elevated, romantic, and family-friendly, never sterile or boring. This remodel in Sandy Springs shows how.
Before: Closed-Off & Lacking Light

This family’s previous kitchen had:
A closed sink wall, full of upper cabinets and a small, blocked window
A garage entry opening directly into the kitchen, creating clutter
Limited storage and countertop space
A small island that didn’t serve family life or entertaining
Our Organic Modern Design Kitchen Renovation Approach
We designed this kitchen to feel romantic yet practical, chic yet approachable. Here’s how:
1. Open Up the Space
Removed the wall between the dining room and kitchen
Kept a segmental archway for a soft, inviting transition
Rerouted garage entry through the mudroom + laundry to keep clutter hidden
2. Bring in Natural Light
Added a large picture window over the sink, framing a serene backyard view
Selected a light, neutral palette for cabinetry and countertops to reflect more light
3. Create a Chic Focal Point
A waterfall island for gathering, homework, and casual meals
A custom statement hood over the range wall for architectural drama
Layered lighting with sculptural pendants and green accent sconces
4. Add Smart Storage Solutions
Full-height pantry wall with coffee bar
Appliance garage to keep counters clear
Hidden drawer microwave in the island
Integrated fridge + dishwasher for a seamless, elevated look
How to Keep a White Kitchen Interesting

At Design & Curations, we don’t follow fleeting trends—we design spaces that last.
Here’s how we made this white kitchen romantic, chic, and timeless:
Fluted farmhouse sink apron for organic texture
A curated mix of hardware (pulls + knobs)
Sculptural leather counter stools with bespoke silhouettes
Wood ledge shelf for seasonal décor and personal styling
Statement hood design for architectural presence
The Result: A Romantic, Family-Centered Kitchen
The remodel turned this white kitchen into the true heart of the home.
It’s now:
Bright and airy with natural light
Highly functional for a busy family of four
Romantic and chic, yet approachable for everyday living
This is a timeless kitchen remodel in Sandy Springs—a space where the family can cook, gather, and create memories for years to come.
