Farm Luxe Journal | Chapter Six

How we designed a bathroom that feels calm, timeless, and beautifully lived in.

In this blog, you will find the 5 renovation ideas, the sources and more!

For Project Farm Luxe, we wanted to create a bathroom that felt calm, timeless, and beautifully lived in. We layered organic materials, thoughtful architectural details, and durable finishes that support everyday life. People often ask me, "Is this farmhouse? Is it English cottage? Is it organic modern?"

Honestly...It's a little bit of all three.

The architecture leans toward an English countryside cottage.

The materials feel organic and timeless.

The overall atmosphere is quiet, warm, and uncluttered. Instead of following one design style, we layered the best qualities of each until the room simply felt right.

A Circular Bathroom Window Became the Focal Point of the Renovation

There was one design idea that wasn't part of the original plan: the shower window.

As we reviewed the elevations, I kept coming back to the same thought: "This shower is going to feel dark."

Rather than accept it, we looked for an architectural solution. A circular window.

The circular window wasn't part of the original design, but the moment we sketched it in, the room changed. Light poured into the shower, and what had been a functional wall suddenly became one of the bathroom's defining features. Sometimes the best design decisions happen after the plans are "finished" and become the ones clients remember most.

Luxury Is Found in the Details

One thing I love most about designing bathrooms is that they're full of opportunities for quiet craftsmanship. In a luxury bathroom renovation, custom details often make the biggest impact. Features like custom vanities, specialty countertop edges, layered lighting, and thoughtful millwork create a bathroom that feels tailored rather than builder-grade.

We Chose Materials That Work for Real Life

This family has children. Dogs. Farm life. Mud.

Marble-look gray and white floor tiles laid diagonally on a construction floor beside stacked boxes labeled Celine and Bedrosians.

As beautiful as natural materials are, practicality mattered just as much. For families considering a bathroom remodel, choosing durable materials is essential. Porcelain tile, quartz surfaces, and easy-care finishes allow a space to feel elevated without becoming difficult to maintain.

That's why we carefully selected durable porcelain tile that captures the warmth and character of natural stone while being much easier to clean and maintain.

5 Bathroom Renovation Ideas to Create a Timeless, Spa-Inspired Space

If you're planning your own bathroom renovation, here are five ideas worth considering:

1. Maximize Natural Light in Your Bathroom Design

Even one thoughtfully placed window can completely change the feeling of a bathroom.

2. Mix Organic Modern with Traditional Details

Combining clean lines with timeless profiles creates a room that feels collected rather than trendy.

3. Add Architectural Details for a Custom Look

Countertop edges, vanity reveals, and custom millwork often have more impact than expensive finishes.

4. Choose Durable Bathroom Materials

Porcelain tile can beautifully mimic natural stone while standing up to busy family life.

5. Create a Calm Bathroom Color Palette

Bathrooms should help your mind slow down.

Simple colors, layered textures, and natural materials almost always age beautifully.

Looking Back...

This bathroom perfectly captures what Project Farm Luxe was always about.

Not creating a showroom. Creating a home.

A home where even the everyday moments feel a little more intentional.

A slower morning.

A quiet evening.

A warm shower after a day spent outside.

Beautiful homes aren't remembered for the square footage or the finishes.

They're remembered for how they make everyday life feel.
